BAKED POTATO

OK Laugh all you want! But there are people out there who don't know how to bake a potato.

Preparation Time: 90 Min

Yield: One serving per potato

Potatoes are supposed to be stored in a cool dark place. If that's the fridge at your house, the oven will have to bring the potato up to room temperature before the cooking begins, so add an extra 15-20 min to the cooking times.

THE PSYCHO POTATO:

Purists say that this is THE only way to bake a potato.

Wash the dirt off of a medium sized potato. Remove eyes.

Stab it multiple times with a skewer to make air vents

(it will explode in the oven if you don't)

Bake it uncovered for 90 min at 325 ° F

Cut it open and lubricate with butter or sour cream.

Eat at once.

THE SLOPPY POTATO

Perfect for new potatoes.

Clean and de-eye a medium sized potato.

Slice the potato lengthwise almost to the base

Cut it twice crosswise similarly

Put slivers of hard butter between in each of the openings

Close the potato up again and wrap it in aluminium foil, shiny side in.

Bake for 90 min at 325 ° F

Skin is edible in this version.
