I'm also a professional and I believe in adhering to the standards that a professional association sets. It drives me CRAZY when I read listings that other Realtors have posted and I find glaring errors or omissions. In most cases, I wonder why the sellers have not cancelled their listings and found a new Realtor. On the Barrie Board listings we enter detailed directions to guide our fellow Realtors to the property. "Yonge north to Mapleview, east to 25th side road, north to listing". That kind of thing. On the Toronto Board they go for major crossroads. (It's a Toronto thing; you will have noticed if you've talked to anyone from Toronto. Where are you from? Yonge and Bloor!) Today I was looking for properties in King Township and came across a listing that described the location as Yonge and Bathurst. Hello!? They are parallel streets that never cross! I found a listing that was described as "North of Hwy 9" but the map location was King Road and Dufferin, which is south of Hwy 9. Hello!?? There were a few listings with no pictures. What does a disposable camera cost? Hello!? Take some pictures! I drive by a property with acreage on Dufferin, just north of the college. It has been listed for over a year. Big price tag; big commission. There is STILL no picture of the house or land on the MLS listing or on the MLS.ca website. I would not be able to sleep at night if I was delivering that kind of service to my clients. Why are the sellers not demanding better service? I don't understand why sellers are willing to settle for anything but the best when you consider the amount of money they are paying out in commissions. What kind of service do YOU settle for when you hire a professional? If you're like me and have the highest expectations get on the Fast-Track to get the kind of service you expect. |
